  • Updates are only downloaded once approved - only approve the x64 updates and your WSUS Server will only download the 64bit updates.

  • If you have x86 workstations, you should be updating them too, so you should eliminate x86 workstations and make them x64 if possible, otherwise, you'll be needing both sets of updates.

  • Hi Fady Sobhy,

    1. Only approved updates can be detected and downloaded by WSUS clients;

    2. When WSUS sync, it only download the metadata of the update into SUSDB, when WSUS admin approve specific updates for computers to install, WSUS server will download the update binary files into SUSDB;

    3. When sync, we can't separate updates for x32 or x64, since updates are separated by "Products and Classifications".

    4. If you only want to patch x64 computers, please only approve the updates for x64.

    Welcome to feedback.

    Best Regards,

    Anne

    "Deferred downloads" (i.e. server only downloads update payloads after approval occurs) is the default, but it might have been changed..

    Don [doesn't work for MSFT, and they're probably glad about that ;]
