Overallocation is misleading RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hallo,

In my teamplanner view the overallocation is marked with red brackets and in some cases there isn´t any other task.

I am using MS Project Professional 2016.

Why is it marked as an overallocation without any other task? What I am missing?

    Thanks for your response.

  • Hi Jakob,

A resource can be overallocated on a single task. For example if you entered 50hrs of work on a 1 week task (40hrs) for a resource, the resource will be overallocated. Then note that in the teamplanner, you see overallocated tasks. So if there is an overallocation only on a part of the task, the entire task will anyway be marked as overallocated.

    Hope this helps,

  • Thanks for that answer,

Maybe you are right in a other case, but my ressources are not assigned for more hours than there are in the standard-calender.

I recently published the specific project with the task that had the overallocation and now the overallocation disappears in all other projects.
Do I need to publish each project after a change to avoid this problem?
Currently we just use the publish button to refresh the tasks for the staff and their taskview.
