Outlook 2016 rule issue RRS feed

  • Trying to set a rule in outlook 2016 and getting error= The operation failed because of a registry or installation problem.

    What causes this error. everything else in outlook works correctly.

    It’s a known issue and Microsoft support team just released (January 3, 2019) the fix for this. And you are lucky that you are using Outlook 2016 J

    The issue may occur after installing the November Security Update KB https://support.microsoft.com/help/4461506.

    Initial fixes have been released for the following versions.  These are Critical On-demand hotfixes (COD) and must be downloaded and installed Outlook 2016 msi   https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4011722

    If this doesn’t work then the workaround would be to manage rules in Outlook Web Access (OWA)

    I have the same problem, but my office is office 365. so I can use the update above. Is there another way to solve this prolem, Thank you.
