Can anything be done in 2003 to minimize differences in project columns when migrated to 2010? RRS feed

  • Question

  • In migrating from 2003 to 2010, Microsoft provides a view and comparison of some project fields to show where differences arise through the migration process (such as start date, finish date, duration, etc have changed). With the many items that are compared, is there anything we can do in 2003 to minimize the differences? Some of our dates and durations are changing more than we would expect and I have not been able to find any documentation covering this. Thanks

  • Not really much you can do.  What has happen is the CU and SP may be changing the scheduling enginee slightly.  Doing things like rounding or no rounding, or other corrections to the scheduling calculation enginee.  So you will have differences.

    Cheers!
