  • Hello,

    Sorry for delayed response.

You need have these permissions for "organization management" and "recipient management".

You can use get-rolegroupmember "organization management" cmdlet to check if you have the permission and use get-rolegroupmember "recipient management" cmdlet to check permission.

  • Hi,

I have the impression as TechNet Community Support Staff earning money by a number of posts not solutions provided.

Of course I should have these permissions, also I have to have Exchange 2013 installed.

    What else please?

Please provide me the final cmdlets. I will find all prerequisites.

  • Hi Cara!

We have the same issue. The browse button for Organizational Unit selection is grayed out. I have created a new RoleGroup and assigned the Distribution Group Role to it. That is all permission that is necessary for a user to create a Distribution Group. "Organization management” should not be necessary, then no one at Service Desk should be able to create any Distribution Groups other than in the Users OU.

    Regards,
    Henrik

  • Hello Mihail,

Quick Quesiton : while you created the Role/Rolegroup did we gave any explicit scope on the OU?

Can you try to create a new role without any scope and see if you are able to click on the Browse Button.

    Waiting to hear from you.

  • Have you resolved your problem?

I have Exchange 2013 CU2 installed, and I added a user to the Recipient Management Role group. I can use it to creat new mailbox and contact and click the browse button, but when I create new distribution group, the browse button for OU is grayed.

If the user is added to the Organization Management Role group, I can browse the OU.

    Anybody knows why?

  • I know how to resolve it. You just need to add Security Group Creation and Membership management role to your Role group, then you can click the browse button.
