RDC Authentication Error 0xc00002fd RRS feed

  • Question

  • Running XP SP3 and enabled NLA support for RDC for client.  RDP'ing to W2K8 R2.  Seems that whenever I disconnect from a session (either logoff or X out), the next time I try to go back in I receive the Authentication Error above.  Happens on 2 different XP SP3 systems.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

    -Steve

PS:  I get back in no problem if I reboot my XP client.

I was able to find these two links by "bing"-ing the title phrase    RDP ERROR: 0xc00002fd .  There were several other listings. Note that this came off the 'net, and not out of the tedchnet or related sites.

  • Welcome to the Microsoft forums!

Unfortunately, searches of the technet's answered problems and forums did not produce a match for the error code as specified. Getting in by rebooting the client seems to refer to a problem with the way the client renews connections after they are closed. This may be a problem with the group policy settings on the servers, or a misconfiguration in the client itself. Please check the system and application event logs and repost here with any errors they have recorded, so we can attempt to track them down.
