"File exceeds allowed limit" error on >50mb files

Question
-
I'm transferring (well, trying anyway) all the files from our on-prem SharePoint instance to our BPOS-provided instance. I'm just viewing them both in Explorer Windows and click-and-dragging them over, and I'm running into a "File exceeds allowed limit" error on >50mb files. I know I tested this about a month ago and was able to upload 100mb+ files. Did this recently change? Anybody else experiencing it? Is it possible to get the limit increased?Sunday, June 20, 2010 7:40 PM

Hi JakesterPDX. The maximum file size permitted is 250MB (see http://blogs.technet.com/b/msonline/archive/2009/07/01/service-update-july-2009-release-availability-features-announced.aspx).
Is the file you are uploading a zip file by any chance? I believe that SharePoint Online, in the same way that Exchange Online does, will unzip the file first to perform virus scanning - if the unzipped contents is greater than 250MB it can fail the upload.
If not, I would recommend opening a support ticket through the administration console.
Hope this helps.
