Active Directory integration with Ubuntu Client System RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We are having windows 2008 server active directory with two domain controllers installed in Data Center. We have more than 5000 Ubuntu systems as client spread across 1000 location. Is it possible to integrate Ubuntu client system with windows active directory and apply group policies same way as e apply for windows clients?

We have added the ubuntu client systems in domain using Likewise tool.In this scenario, We get entries of Ubuntu systems in active directory computers but A Record and pointer entries are not getting added in DNS.

  • Hi,

    Thanks for your post.

GPO In Windows is a set of objects based around Windows API and domain architecture type. This is not possible for Linux clients by default. Maybe some 3rd party tools meet your requirement:

Please Note: The third-party product discussed here is manufactured by a company that is independent of Microsoft. We make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding this product's performance or reliability.

    Best Regards,
