Google Chrome Keeps giving me a 1639 error RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I'm using MDT to build a Windows 10 x64 anniversary edition along with a few apps. All my other application installs work but Google Chrome insists on throwing out this error 1639 which is an MSI error. The install works but the copy of the master_preferences file gives access denied, as well as the stopping and starting of the services, and the regkey add all give access denied.

I have no idea why mdt insists on giving a 1639 error

Here is my install.cmd that I am calling in the task sequences via application.

    msiexec /i "%~dp0GoogleChromeStandaloneEnterprise.msi"
    if exist "c:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\master_preferences" copy /y "%~dp0master_preferences" "C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\master_preferences"
    if exist "c:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\master_preferences" copy /y "%~dp0master_preferences" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\master_preferences"
    reg add HKLM\Software\Policies\Google\Update /f /v AutoUpdateCheckPeriodMinutes /d 0
    sc start gupdate
    sc config gupdate start= enabled

Any help would be appreciated as I am stumped.
