Start Menu is not working after Windows 10 update RRS feed

  • After Windows update, start menu is not working in my Windows 10 laptop. Kindly provide troubleshooting techniques to resolved this issue. Thank you.

  • Please perform the following steps:

    1) open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:

    2) sfc /scannow

    3) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

    4) net user test /add


    5) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread

    6) shutdown /r

    7) when the computer reboots sign on with the new user named test

    8) evaluate the performance of the start menu and post information into the thread

    9) run the Microsoft start menu troubleshooter

    11) open administrative power shell and copy and paste:

    Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

    For assisted support, try the Start menu troubleshooter. After you've completed the troubleshooter, restart your device.
