API for SCVMM RRS feed

  • I am using SCVMM for creating VM, now i have an in house web based application in which i keep all the records for VMs.

    I want to know hot to get API of SCVMM so that i can manage VMs from my application.

    Normal tasks lik creating, starting, stopping VMs.

  • There are no programming APIs exposed by SCVMM. However, we do have powershell scripts that you can leverage to handle the tasks that you are talking about.

  • I just want to point out that the fact that there is no API is the most ridiculous and absurd idea I've ever seen from a software product like this. Powershell is NOT an API. It's Powershell. I shouldn't have to interact with SCVMM by running a powershell instance inside of my C# application. Not only is this a pain in the ass, its also a complete nightmare from a design point of view. Whoever made this terrible decision needs to be fired.
