BiSearch shows no results RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have Fast BIsearch configured on my farm.  Here is Fast report:

    PS C:\FASTSearch\bin> Get-FASTSearchContentCollection -Name "sp"

    Name          : sp
    Created       :
    Cleared       :
    LastInput     : 11/22/2010 9:25:58 AM
    DocumentCount : 45526
Description   : Default collection for SharePoint content
    Pipeline      : Office14 (webcluster)

Howerver, when I search on bisearch.aspx, no results are returned.  Do I need to do a full crawl after BIsearch is configured?

    Thanks!

  • It could be due to multiple reasons 1. The user with which you are searching as might not have permissions 2. You need to configure claims authentication, to enable queies from SP Logon to Go to FAST QR server. From browser goto http://localhost:<baseport + 280>..typically base post is 13000 search from here. If you get what u are looking for, then there is issue with SP-FAST integration If you do not get any result , then disable security in FAST seracr QR server and execute query. If you get result, then the issue is still with SP-FAST integration, but more security trimming related. Look at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff381253.aspx for more details Thanks, Sreedhar

  • You cannot disable the security in the QR server (afaik), but you can turn off the security token cache clearing, or grab the output of a particular query based on the security token of a user within 15 seconds.

The easy way is to use the logger app I created for this scenario which you can find on Codeplex: http://fs4splogger.codeplex.com/

It monitors the query log and re-executes the queries and logs the output xml from the QR server. Very handy for debugging, but dangerous as you see all results from the users running queries.

  • Sreedhar, it would help if you used some line breaks in your answers for better readability.
