Detect how app was started. RRS feed

  • I'm trying to find out if there's a way for a console app on Windows, to detect if it was started by a user pressing the Enter key or pressing Shift-Enter.

    Alternatively is there another way to start an app other than Enter? 

    This is in the context of working with a command window where we can just run apps by invoking them as commands.

    Any info much appreciated.

    Are you sure about this? My question was posted in the Windows Internals sub-forum of the Windows Sysinternals forum.
