New instances of MS Paint continue to display a previous image that is over and done with RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am using Windows 7. I had created a JPG file weeks ago using MS Paint. However, now, every time I launch it, it keeps coming up with that image. How do I stop this? All I want is a blank canvas without having to open up  Fle | New each time. I tried saving the file with the old image hoping it would go away, to no avail. And, I cannot erase what is currently on the canvas!!

  • Where did you open the Paint?

Please click Start, copy %windir%\system32\mspaint.exe to the search box,  press ENTER to open Paint. See if the issue persists.

  • In the meantime, I did check out where the shortcut was pointing to. I found out that it had the path to this file as an argument. Removed it - all is well now. Thanks for the response, Miya.
