NAP and network connectivity RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I have one query. If any health parameter/credentials changes on NAP enabled system having full access, re-authentication happens is it right or wrong?

what happens to network connectivity when  re-authentication happens.

  • Hi Jaya,

Yes, the computer will re-authenticate when health changes. The way that network connectivity changes is different depending on the NAP enforcement method used.

For IPsec, network connections are not affected.
For 802.1X, network connections are affected if you use the VLAN method (during VLAN change), but not with the ACL method.
For VPN, network connections are not affected.
For DHCP, network connections are affected during DHCP address renewal.

    I hope this helps,
