2012 R2 SP1 CU3 migration to Current Branch

Question
-
Hello,
Currently we have a single Primary Server running on Server 2008 R2 and SQL 2008 R2. The version of ConfigMgr is 2012 R2 SP1 CU3.
I'd like to create a new server running Server 2012 R2 with SQL 2012 R2 and install the Current Branch of ConfigMgr. I'd like to keep the same site code, migrate the database, and set up the same app shares and everything.
What is the easiest way to accomplish this? Is there a page out there that walks through this instance? I know I can currently upgrade to Current Branch, and then upgrade the Server to 2012 R2 as it is supported in 1602 but there are some lingering issues on this server and I'd like to start fresh.
Thanks!

I don't have links available right now but several people, including Kent Agerlund, has demonstrated how to do this. I know he did it on a 1E demonstration about 2 months ago and it might be in TechEd. Basically you prepare a new 2012 Server and SQL 2012. Then you perform the back and restore with a site reset to the new box. At this point if all is correct then you should have your site fully working on the new hardware and software, fully supported for ConfiMgr Current Branch.
Then you run the upgrade to 1511 and then you can run the test upgrade of a client to ensure it sees the 1511, then run the upgrade to 1602, check your client and then upgrade all clients.
Edit: It was inside one of these web demos: http://www.1e.com/maximizing-sccm-1511-enterprise-client-management/

Thanks, but that goes over updating an existing instance. I'm asking on the best way to migrate to a new server while using same site code, etc.

Dear Sir,
Watch below post from Jorgen. You may get things that need to pay attention to during upgrade.
http://ccmexec.com/2016/03/configmgr-cb-1602-server-2008-r2-in-place-upgrade-to-2012-r2/
Always read Microsoft document first before starting.
Best regards
Frank
