    I've got a customer who is moving to SfB from a Linux based service.

    I need to work out if it is possible to accept XMPP requests from the existing Linux server and relay to the internet via the edge proxy server during the cut over period.

    Is the customer from a user account on the Skype for Business Server?

    What is the meaning of Linux based service?

    Does the customer you are moving to SFB is external federation user?

    According to your description, it seems you want to migrate user into another Skype for Business Servers. So can you tell me more details about it?

    Based on my knowledge, xmpp federation defines an external deployment based on the eXtensible Messaging and presence protocol(XMPP). If you want to know how to configure XMPP gateway access policies and certificates, you can refer to:
