Voice priority RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is it possible with a Sonicwall 3500 for prioritisation  of Lync voice traffic. There is options to prioritise h.323 and sip. The Lync codec is Microsoft RT Audio, correct?

  • On the sonicwalls there is a way to create custom service groups, and then give priority to those services.

There is a lot that goes in to planning QoS properly, so I will point you to this download.

There is a topic about QoS in there that outlines how to go about this.

Basically, You define the media ports to be used per modality, audio/video/app sharing, then create service groups on your firewall/router and prioritize those groups.
