PS 2010 - Error on opening PWA RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear Folks,

My client has EPM 2010 with SP2, when he tries to open PWA system gives following error, but when i refresh the same page PWA works, very strange behavior.

Moreover, I have already checked all application pools on APP server to make sure all are running fine. But still have this issue.

Kindly help me to resolve this issue.

    Many thanks

  • Hello,

In Central Admin, check the Services on Server page, is the Project Server Application Service running on at least one server in the farm?

  • Ahh so it is a timeout issue. IIS App pools recycle each night. Look at implementing warm up scripts to run after the IIS app pools recycle. An example of one is SPWakeUp: https://spwakeup.codeplex.com/

  • Let me tell you one more thing here Paul.

It happens every time (in a day) when I try to open PWA. It works in second try.

I will check what you have advised and get back to you.

    Many thanks

  • Hi,

It happened to me once and a server(s) reboot helped. The Project Service has been started and stopped on another server and then we were getting the error. The reboot of the SharePoint servers fixed the issue (maybe an iisreset etc. would have fixed it as well)
