Thumbnail Cache Randomly Recreating RRS feed

  • Question

  • Just wondering if anybody is having this problem.  Thumbnails load fine...  for example, in disk cleanup, it says the thumbnail cache is 330 MB.  Then, out of nowhere, I'll open a folder and the thumbnails all regenerate.  I check the cache again, and it's 15 MB.  How can I stop this from happening?  Any help is much appreciated.  Thanks

  • You want the thumbnail cache to not update? Why would that be desired? What are you trying to do?

  • yes, updating is fine.  The problem is I have hundreds of photos on my computer and having to wait for the thumbnails to cache is bothersome, in fact, the only bothersome thing about windows 7.  In vista, it would just update the thumbnails that changed, not delete the whole thumbnail cache and start over.

  • It sounds like something the dev team will want to look at.
