SPS2010 - September, 2014 CU Error while discovering Update RRS feed

  • Question

  • I can not install September CU (kb2883103) for my SPS2010 (SP2)

when I run it - it opens License Agreement window - then I press [agree] and then it writes "wait while update discovering is running" and then error window appearing "error while discovering"

Is there any way to wix it?

Answers

  • Hello Aland,

Reinstalling server would be our last resort and will do it in the end when there is no possible solution left.

In the meantime, can you please run below mentioned command and provide us the result for it

psconfig -cmd upgrade -inplace b2b -wait -force

If above mentioned command fails, then please provide screenshot of the error message and then try running below mentioned command:

Psconfig -cmd upgrade -inplace b2b -force -cmd applicationcontent -install -cmd installfeatures -cmd installcheck -noinstallcheck

    OR

You can also run PSCONFIG from GUI.

With this information also pass on the screenshot oif your SharePoint farm version from central administration -> Manage server in Farm

  • Perform a windows recovery if that does not help then you need to rebuild the server. no other option

  • What version number is your SharePoint farm currently? Go to Central administration -> Manage servers in Farm -> Copy the version number and paste here.

I think my windows folder is corrupted - and it does not allow to install any update

  • I don't know the solution but I found the reason of my problem:

I've deleted files from c:\windows\Installer\ folder

That is why I cannot install any update to my sharepoint

    http://www.sharepointdiary.com/2012/01/do-not-delete-files-in-cwindowsinstall.html

Absolutely have no idea - what to do now. Reinstall server?
