Trial editions and licensed editions of sharepoint, Project server, and Office Web Apps products may not be installed on the same server RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are in a requirement of installing share point 2010, project server 2010, visual studio 2012, SQL sever 2008 on same server(Virtual machine using Hyper -V, windows server 2008) .

We have installed the above software's trial version except project server 2010 on the server.

when we try installing the project server licensed version, we are getting the below error.

"Trial editions and licensed editions of share point, Project server, and Office Web Apps products may not be installed on the same server"

    Please help us.

Note: The procurement is already in process to get the keys for share point 2010, visual studio 2012, SQL sever 2008.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hi Durai,

As per this blog, the only solution is getting a license key and upgrade the Trial license to a Standard or Enterprise license. Afterwards you can install Office Web Apps.

See also a similar thread here.

Finally this blog proposes a solution to this issue:

    • Run RegEdit
    • Browse to HKLMSoftwareMicrosoftOffice14.0Registration{90140000-110F-0000-1000-00000000FF1CE}
    • Delete LicenseType
    • Restart your install.

    Hope this helps,

  • HI Duraimurugan,

Try installing trial version of Project server 2010 on the server. And once you get the licenced versions of SharePoint, VS and SQL then provide keys for all softwares to convert it into trial to licenced version.

Hope this way you will be able to solve your problem.
