In place upgrade from Windows server 2003 standard editon to Windows server 2003 Enterprise r2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello there,

I am wanting to know if it is possible to upgrade from Windows server 2003 standard edition to Enterprise R2 with out any data loss, I am wanting to do a in place upgrade. I have a server that is being used as a Terminal and has standard edition on it, the reason i am wanting to go to Enterprise is the memory allocation befit. If some could let me know if this is possible and the instructions need to make this happen. I would appreciate it very much.

  • This forum is dedicated to supporting SMS 2003. If the server in question is an SMS server then it's unsupported to upgrade the OS without reinstalling SMS. If this isn't an SMS server I have no clue what the answer is. You'd have to post in the Server 2003 forums.
