Timesheets submitted, but not showing in approval center. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have a Project Server 2013 environment in SEM with task status manager approval with line approval before timesheet approval set. A large number of resources are submitting their timesheets, the line items are approved by status manager, but the timesheet approval does not populate in the timesheet managers approval center. The timesheets are showing the status of Submitted with the timesheet manager as the next approver. Any guidance is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Chris

  • Hello Chris,

Thanks for the update. Yup, that's a bug in my opinion.  I see it a lot but really haven't been able to reproduce to  cause it to happen.

I do what you did.  Turn SEM off to see which timesheets are stuck and then I turn SEM back on.   This allows me to see which timesheets are having problems and then I can recall, delete and resubmit those timesheets and then timesheets will go thru ok.

    Cheers!

  • Hi Chris,

When you go the status manager approval page, then approval history for task updates, do you have any error message?

    Hope this helps.

  • Hello Chris

Try looking at one of the timesheet that have been submitted to the timesheet manager and see who the next approver is.

Also, if "Fixed Routing" is enabled, then the project manager needs to approve the status updates before the timesheet manager will see it.

    cheers!

  • Not seeing any errors in the logs or in the status update history. We do have Fixed Routing set up, and I have verified that line items are being approved by the Status Manager.

I do get a page error occasionally that requires me to turn off SEM, view the page and make approvals, then turn SEM back on.

    Thanks!

  • So I think I have narrowed the issue to SEM. I turned off SEM, went to the approval center, and the submitted timesheets showed up for approval. With that being said, are there any known issues with SEM that should be addressed?

    Thanks!
