Server 2012 HyperV host drop out shortly after beeing added to SCVMM 2012 SP1 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi ,

I am adding two Server 2012 HyperV hosts to VMM. Both of them add without a problem, but when you try to do a host refresh they fail with error 2912 and different error messages. I have checked the WinRM configuration and it looks good. All Firewalls are off and the Machines can reach each other on all ports.

I have removed and re-added the hosts several times to always the same effect. The certificates on the VMM server get created and removed when I remove and add them to VMM so there is no old certificates that got stuck.

I am a bit lost on this.

  • VMM is absolute relying on a well configured DNS to communicate with its hosts. Please ensure that DNS lookups (FQDN) is working and that you are getting response from the correct IP. I've seen this some times if the hosts have several NICs active and multiple IP adresses assigned.

  • Hi,

I'm seeing exactly the same thing.

When I add the host, I can refresh it a couple of times, then the refresh fails with above errors.

I ran the WinRM command in the console. That still works.

I've checked certificates and DNS setup. They seem to be ok, too.

    I'm completely out of ideas.

    Cheers,

    Markus
