upgrading existing W10 images to Creators

  • Our company is currently maintaining about six different W10 images that are in Audit Mode that we use for user deployments. Will we be able to upgrade these to Creators Update when it is released or do we have to build all new images based on Creators?

  • Are you using MDT?

You should wait for official release of creator update and then , you will get documents about deployments and updates on MDT. It is depends on your configuration and in some cases , you only need to update the main installer file and apply your settings. In other cases, you may use upgrade methods in Configuration Manager or using WSUS.

  • Hi ,

Creators Update is not released yet. We need to wait. Microsoft will release more related documents along with Creators Update. My suggestion is build all new images based on Creators update. Every time a new feature update is released, we will be reported that some users cannot upgrade due to many causes. Build a new image will avoid this kind of issue, hope it will be helpful for you.

    Best regards
