Windows Focus Focus - Focus! RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I find it very frustrating when I'm typing something and anther program takes ove focus over what I'm writing!  Stupid computers should do what I ask them to do when I ask them.  Just because I'm opening Outlook does not mean I want see it yet!  Wait until I'm friggin doing what I want to do then allow me to chose what I want next.  I'm a fast typist, I like to open everyting at once, still keep focus on what the ____ I'm doing!

  • I have not tried this so proceed with caution. Stealing Focus - How To Prevent (worked with XP)

The registry key exists so that's a good sign.

As the article says, backup your registry or export the key for safe keeping before changing it.

  • Hi,

You can try to modify registry to delay the time. Just delay, not hold it.

    1. Click Start, type regedit and press Enter.
    2. Navigate to
    HKEY CURRENT USER\Control Panel\Desktop.
    3. In the right panel, Modify the vaule of ForegroundLockTimeout to max, it should be ffffffff.
    4. Restart the computer.

    Hope it helps.

    Thanks.
