Exchange 2016 setup hybrid with multi factor authentication. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm trying to enter my credentials in the setup process and it keeps telling me, The username or password is invalid.

I suspect this is because my account has multi factor authentication enabled on office 365. I've tried my domain password and also my app password and neither one works. I'm going to disable multi factor authentication to see if it works.

  • Hm, I seem to recall that the HCW wizard supports MFA now, but maybe I'm imagining things again :)

  • I'm using the CU7 installer on server 2016 if that makes a difference. I've seen things work in various software in previous versions to revert back to not working in future updates. Who knows!
