My PC in File Explorer has a long delay RRS feed

    I re-installed windows 10 on my system so this is a fresh install with all updates, drivers, chipset etc. Whenever I try to access my local directories, all of the hard drives under "My PC" take ~ 30 seconds to display, including the C drive. This happens with File Explorer and I just tried installing Directory Opus to see if that would help but I get the same problem. I do not see anything in my Event Log that would be creating this delay. Also, if I save to a hard drive out of a typical desktop application (like Word), the various hard drives all display immediately, there is no delay.

    Any information would be helpful.

    Try a Clean Boot and test the issue.

    Do you experience the same if you create another user account with same privileges?

    Hi Rob,

    Try to execute Error checking and defrag at first.

    Then, create another admin account to check result.

    PS: close all third-party Anti-virus software and security software.
