Windows Updates Fail RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've been attempting to install updates for about three days and every time I keep getting code 80070005.

    I've:

    • Restarted the computer
    • Checked for driver updates
    • Made sure things in the System file were all marked read only
    • Attempted to update Windows Update itself (It fails to extract the file)

this is what it's doing. i have no clue as to how to fix this. i've tried getting help but there were no solutions that i've seen so far. please help?

  • have you disabled the User Account control? Do you get a Dialog to allow the tool to run?
