Is Microsoft supporting all Visual C library functions (C1995) in header files to new (C2011) ISO C compiler in VS2013? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Why I am asking this, many of my friends who are programmers on IBM AIX and SUN Solaris
are trying to convert their applications written in ASCII C95 to C2011 on the Microsoft
platform. They are testing to see if they can move them applications to
    Microsoft Windows Platform.

Please note I am not speaking of C++ hear but C.

They are experiencing problems with stuff missing or not working like in C the sscanf does not work in Visual Studio 2013.

It would be nice if Microsoft Compiler developers could include some C (C11 Standard) samples
with the next VS2013 SDK for people moving from IBM AIX and SUN Solaris
platforms to the ISO C11 standard in their SDK for Visual Studio 2013 SDK.

Let me know your thoughts on this?
