Find what version of windows belongs to a specific product key RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

    I have approx 250 machines in my environment that were purchased at different times (of course).

    I'd like to find out if the original product key was for win 7, 8 or 10. and edition

    I can get the original product key with :

    Get-WmiObject -ComputerName $c.name -query 'select * from SoftwareLicensingService').OA3xOriginalProductKey + "  -  " + $c.name  }
    I've got this is a foreach loop for a specific OU.

    But when it returns the key, I'd like to know what version of windows it belongs to (Win 7,8,10).

    So, when I return results, right now I get the computername and the key, but not what version of windows it's for.

    Thank you
