FCS problem - Start up application veryslow RRS feed

  • Question

  • Friends,

I have the following problem on my FCS work environment:

    Scenario:
Office\Desktop users with Windows Windows XP Professional SP3 with the FCS v1.5.1958.0.

    Problem:
If FCS services is enabled when the CMX Application (oracle application ) performance is very slow.

    Symptom:
This problem occurs only with the that application, the rest of the programs are working properly. The application and database is stored in a powerful file server with Windows Server 2003. The network users access through a share on the network mapped to logical drive in J:\. The .exe , database is stored in the file server. The station is only a shortcut to the .exe on file server. I'm sure the problem is client side.

    Actions taken:
    In the file server FCS
I created exclusions for files and folders. (J:\CMX\*.*)
I created exclusions for app process executable. (CMX.exe)

Thanks for the help they can provide...

  • Try taking a look through some of the processes here.. http://blogs.technet.com/kfalde/archive/2009/12/30/determining-the-cause-of-fcs-client-performance-issues.aspx

Keep in mind if you create a process exclusion that the process must start after FCS starts.. so if its a service then  you need to go into the other service and set a dependonservice reg key to depend on fcsam that or just test by restarting the other service/process after adding the exclusion for it to FCS.
