"Skype Directory" doesn't work with remote Skype for Business client RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We have a (in-premise) Skype for Business 2015 server installed. We have an issue with the remote S4B Client. When people login remotely (off-premise) using S4B client, they are not able to search people in the "Skype Directory". If they login locally (in-premise), they can search and add Skype people using "Skype Directory".

Remote S4B clients are working okay with other feature except search and add Skype people. Do you know what should we do to fix it?

  • Hi DanielLeung,

If I am understand correctly, you cannot search users in external environment, but you could search users in the internal environment.

Generally, this problem related to the SFB external web services in the Reverse Proxy. please check certificate in the RP.

Please also check the inbound port 4443 and the outbound port 443 were opened?

There is a similar case ,you could refer to it.

You could use following tool to check this issue as well.

  • I found out the issue.

I forget to open TCP 443 for the Reverse Proxy server (Frontend Server).
