Process Explorer causes clicks and cracks when playing music RRS feed

  • Question

  • Process Explorer causes clicks and cracks every few secs when playing music. Checked on both audio cards I have (SB Audigy 4 and Realtek HDA), on fb2k and MPC-HC. Reproducible on any Process Explorer from 2012-10-03 version up to the last one.

  • Can you please provide some steps to repro the problem??

What should I run to play music? what should I do in PE to cause the crash?

Please, steps t reproduce the problem, one by one..

    Thanks

  • 1. Run foobar2000 or MPC-HC or, I suppose, any other player.

    2. Run Process Explorer.

    3. Start playing some music file in the player (I played FLAC file).

You should hear clicks and cracks every few seconds.

  • I can't repro .. it sound great for me..

It uses some resources.. but no click no cracks or whatever..

This machine is now old even if it can run Windows 10 and I have no problem at all..

Probably you have some dedicated sound card with drivers not 100% fully functional..

Can you try on another machine with different hardware setup?

  • I use Win81 x64. As I said above the issue is reproducible on both integrated and discrete audio cards.
