  • Hi All,

    I want to deploy app-v 5.0 with high availability by using a load balancer, can some one provide me an article how to configure this.

  • Hello,

    I suggest you read the above article - it states howto install the roles on seperated nodes and how they interact with each other. Yes, you can make it highly available.

    Sequencing Office 2010 is currently not supported - see this article for more information;

  • Hello,

    This depends on what type of infrastructure you will be using;

    App-V 5 with SCCM 2012 SP1?

    See the general improvents that happend in SCCM 2012 here; http://www.systemcenterblog.nl/2012/08/10/high-availability-options-in-configmgr-2012/

    App-V 5 with native infrastructure

    See this guide for general rules - no specific HA scenario is explained, but there are guidance for component interaction and if you are knowledge about your load balancer, file-services and SQL you can leverage this to create a HA-design,

    App-V 5 using MSI standalone deployment

    What will your deployment engine be? Active Directory?

    App-V 5 using deployment with powershell scripts

    What will your deployment engine be? Active Directory?

  • Hi Nicke,

    Thanks for your information, i am really new to this App-v my main areas are AD, Exchange and Lync so sorry if i ask any stupid questions. :)

    There is no SCCM involvement, I have desktop optimization pack 2012 and from it i have installed app-v 5.0 server with Management and publishing server roles (both server roles are in one server ), then i created a package using app-v sequencer, published it in to the server and the application deployed to the client (i just deployed a browser software for testing).

    So is it possible to install another Management and Publishing server and make the high availability?

    - Apart from the high availability when sequencing Office 2010 with App-v 5.0 do we have to use Office 2010 deployment kit because i saw that it is a must with App-v 4.6 and also any issues with deploying office 2010 x64 ?

    Thanks,

    Kanishka.
