PS 2013 !Project sites update RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi!

Is it possible to update all project sites at once?

I have new project site template and about 200 projects with sites, which I need to change according to this temlate.

Is there some way to simlify this process, or I had to do this manually?

    Thanks a lot in advance!

    Kate.

  • Hello,

Unfortunately this is manual out of the box. You could programmatically do this though depending on the changes you need to apply, the company I work for (CPS) do have a tool that can do this automatically.

  • Kate - assuming sites are in use and have content your intended approach is not possible partially in order to prevent loss of valuable data. Sites that could benefit from the improved content and features invested in your new site template would need to be updated individually and manually.

You might want to audit the existing sites. If there are any sites that exist but do not have any content you could consider deleting the existing site and replacing it with a new one based upon your template. Again this would be a manual and individual process rather than the bulk update you are hoping for, sorry.
