Can't install Office 2007 on Server 2003 64bit

Question
-
I am trying to install office 2007, well I only need excel 2007, on a Server 2003 R2 SP2 64bit edition.
When you run setup.exe it starts to load then exits with an error before starting to install.
I have tried a few different versions: Professional, Small business and downloaded the installers a number of times so I know they are not corrupt.
I get errors like this when I try and install:
The description for Event ID ( 5000 ) in Source ( Microsoft Office 12 ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. Are you trying to serve the Excel program from the server to other computer workstations or trying to install to run on the server as a stand-alone program? If trying to run on workstations you need the volume licensed version with the proper type of license and the retail products you mentioned are not able to be run from a central server.- Marked as answer by Jennifer Zhan Monday, August 2, 2010 2:38 AM

Thanks that link had the answer.
The registry keys needed to be renamed and then office 2007 would install.
The server is running exchange but outlook was not required so the first part of the answer was not the problem. This part solved it:rename the following registry keys if present:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0
HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\12.0
Once renamed, run setup again.

Worked perfect for me as well
Thanks
