Filter issues between reports RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have two Reporting Services reports on a dashboard. I have two filters placed in another header zone. Both filters are based on a SQL Server Table (actually they're views rather than a physical table). One filter returns a string, the other a number. The character-based filter works fine but the filter that returns a smallint from the view does nothing. When I select another value from the filter it triggers a refresh of both reports but the reports don't filter by the selected value (all values are returned - which is the default).

The RS reports work fine outside the Dashboard so I figure it must be a PP filter issue. I'm wondering if it is an issue with the data type.

  • Try running a SQL Server Profiler trace on your server and verify what parameter is passed from PerformancePoint to the Reporting Services when you change the filter value.

  • The underlying view returned an INT which didn't work. When I cast it as a CHR it worked.
