HTA Tiltle not hidden when x-ua-compatibility is set to ie=10 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Good Evening Everyone,

    I'm playing around with a login prompt using an HTA and I'm having issues getting the title bar to be hidden. I had to make changes and add the below line to my header so i can use bootstrap and a few other css files like animate.css.

    <meta http-equiv="x-ua-compatible" content="ie=10">

    When i have ie=9, the title bar is hidden but then animate.css doesn't work. has anyone had this issue and solved it already? I have been looking online and I'm not finding anything too promising.

  • HTAs are not supported in that mode - use at your own risk.

  • I understand its use at my own risk, I was just hoping to see if anyone knew a workaround.

  • I think you are out of luck. HTAs are essentially obsolete.

  • I still tinker with HTAs, VBscript, Javascript, and HTML is certainly not obsolete and HTAs are fully supported in Windows 10.  Developing large scale applications based on the HTA platform is certainly not a great idea for long term life-cycle, but it is an outstanding option for minimalist apps that can do whatever you can dream up.  I have an app that plops a sweet little resized jQuery fortified button/menu that (onMouseOver) does a slide-out from the top-right corner of the desktop, offering handy office info and documentation hyperlinks.

    Here is my HTA header, I noticed your code uses SCROLL="no", mine uses SCROLL="NONE", however {edit}I now realize my property is wrong {oops}.  My app works as desired though and I am using IE9 standards.  Everything I have attempted with functionality has worked great with this so far, just need to get creative.  Hope this helps.
