start remote desktop from windows lock screen RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is it possible to invoke remote desktop from the lock screen of a host machine without interfering with any active session on that host machine? The host machine might have been locked by someone who had just walked away from it or the host machine may be being used remotely by its regular user. But despite this i would like to use it to run a remote session to my regular machine.

  • Hi,

The answer is no, Lock screen aims to protect user's profile and system resources securitry, Remote desktop need to use system rescoures, such as Printer, Drives, and so on. Therefore, it's impossible to start remote desktop from Widnows lock screen.
