EnableSharePointProtection does not discover SharePoint RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I have a Sharepoint farm with DB-server and WFE-server, both Windows server 2012, SQL 2012 and SharePoint 2013. No problem installing the DPM agent, but when running the EnableSharePointProtection it returns the following answer:

    PS C:\Program Files\Microsoft Data Protection Manager\DPM\bin> .\ConfigureSharepoint.exe -EnableSharePointProtection
No Sharepoint Installation was detected on the local machine.

    dpmra service running
    sharepoint vss service running
    volumeshadowcopy service running
logged in with farm admin account, tried also my domain admin wich is in the farm admin group
    protection agent version 4.0.1920.0
dpm version system center 2012 4.0.1020.0

What am I missing?  Greately appreciate some feedback:-)

BTW - anyone tried the online option for DPM backup? Thumbs up or down?

    Happy friday,

  • Hi,

as I can see from your Build No . you use DPM 2012 CU3.

DPM 2012 does NOT Support SharePoint 2013.
    You would need DPM 2012SP1

    regards

  • Hi

Did you map a drive from your sharepoint server to the DPM server and run the command from an elevated prompt?
