The semaphore timeout period has expired RRS feed

  • Hi All,

    Unable to connect to SQL server, getting below error when connected with SSMS.

    "The semaphore timeout period has expired."

    In the logs I see below message: 

    Process 0:0:0 (0x1c7c) Worker 0x0000000CB2880160 appears to be non-yielding on Scheduler 36. Thread creation time: 13233797745469. Approx Thread CPU Used: kernel 46 ms, user 21201281 ms. Process Utilization 52%%. System Idle 47%%. Interval: 28653157 ms.

    This is the Mirror server, the mirroring is disconnected due to this. Please assist to resolve the issue. Thanks.

    Yes, this error is caused by the network connection issue. You can refer to below blog to troubleshooting:
