How should we configure Unified Messaging as we move mailboxes to Office365 RRS feed

  • We are getting ready to move all of our Exchange Mailboxes and Lync to Office365.  We currently have Unified Messaging integrated with our Cisco CUCM phone system.  I would like some opinions as to how to handle Unified Messaging after the transistion -- currently I am assuming that we will be creating a hybrid Exchange Environment and keeping a Unified Messaging server onsite. 

    Would having an onsite UM server would protect us in the event of an Office365 Outage.  (I understand that the messages would queue up on the UM server even if mailboxes aren't available - am I correct?)

    Since the E2 plan seems to be missing from the features list, can it receive UM/Voicemail from an on-premise server?
