Error 1370. Administrative Account required to Uninstall RRS feed

  • Question

  •

I am having a problem uninstalling my applications of the Vista Business Operating System. I am running SP1, but that does not seem to be the issue. The error that I am receiving is, "You must be an administrator to remove this application. To remove this application you can log on as administrator, or contact your technical support group."

Well, I am logged on as administrator. If I can install the applications, using my administrator account, how come I can't uninstall the applications using the same account.

The only way that I can uninstall these apps, is by logging on as the user Administrator.

  • Hello,

Have you tried to right-click the uninstaller and select Run as Administrator?

According to your description, this software should be not UAC-compliant. If the problem persists, let me know the name of the application.

  • Hi Lionel,

Thanks for your reply. The developer went back and modified the MSI installer properties foir software, which seems to have resolved the issue. It is been a real chore trying to make sure the software is UAC compatible, so that we can move forward in submitting it for the Vista Logo Program.

    Once again,

    Thanks for your response.
