MDT Fails While Deploying Windows 10 RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hi All,

I have been having a strange issue with MDT. I am trying to deploy a Windows 10 Education image using MDT2013 U2 and WDS.

After the Install OS task is finished it is running the LTIApply script and immediately fails during the dism.exe /Apply-Unattend command. The error is very generic from what I can find. Failure(5627): -2147467259 0x80004005

Any clues to why this might happen?

    Thanks,

    Reuben.

  • hi

Did you modify the default unattend.xml files??

What version of the ADK are you using?

    Kind regards

  • Hi,

The ADK I have installed is the latest windows 10 one.

I did not change any xml files to my knowledge.

Further testing showed that using a clean os with the same settings worked fine, so the problem is my syspreped image.

The steps I took are as follows:

    1. Installed OS and Updated it fully.
    2. Installed Missing Drivers.
    3. Installed Software Packages in use by our school.
    4. I did not join a domain.
    5. I removed all apps for all users.
    6. I ran Sysprep and Capture.

    Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Regards,

    Reuben

  • Hi

I cannot remember if it is fixed - but earlier if you remove all provisioned apps in your build and capture - as you do it failes. I remove the apps when deploying the image instead.

You have to remove all custom steps and add them one of the time - it can also be a application that's breaks your image.

  • Hi,

How do I remove the apps during deployment?

    Should I also remove drivers?
