Network connection becomes a shortcut RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi everyone,

I'm having problems trying to create a network connection.

I want to connect with a URL like http://server.

I create the connection using Windows options and, at the beginning the network connection appears well configured and linked but, once I close that window and open it again, the link is changed for a shortcut location.

I want that Windows mantains the connection like http://... and not C:/Users/Appdata...

    Why is this happening?

    Thanks for your help!

  • Hi,

are you on a domain joined network? The File>Properties menu will tell you which IE security zone the server maps to (expected Intranet)... If does not map to the Intranet zone, contact your system administrators to adjust your IE settings for auto-detecting intranet sites.

try Tools>Internet Options>Advanced tab, uncheck "go to intranet site for single word entry in the address bar". Save changes.
