Criteria-based Distribution Group in FIM 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello All,

When I create Criteria-based Distribution Group in FIM 2010, it create Global Security Group in AD.

I had used the below custom expression in Syncing the group.

    CustomExpression(IIF(Eq(type,"Distribution"),IIF(Eq(scope,"Universal"),8, IIF(Eq(scope,"Global"),2,4)), IIF(Eq(scope,"Universal"),-2147483640, IIF(Eq(scope,"Global"),-2147483646,-2147483644))))

Is something wrong with the CustomExpression ?

  • Hello,

Attributes type and scope are présents in the MV? If they not your CustomExpression return -2147483644(Domain Security group if i'm right )

For me, your CustomExpression seem ok for me.

  • Hello,

Reply late as my other job keeping me busy in last few days.

I have reviewed and see the attribute are all correctly set in the metaverse. When I do the AD export it create Global Security Group in AD instead of Universal Distribution group :(

  • Anirban,

The reason for this is that the groupType attribute value you are using is that for security groups. DLs in AD have values of 2, 4 or 8. Try using those values instead of the '-214.....' and I bet this works for you.........
