Password reset RRS feed

  • Question

  • After setting up AD DC on a new install of Windows Server 2008 R2 Foundation I get "The user name or password is incorrect". I've tried to log on to the new domain and locally to the server as administrator.

  • Hello,

it seems that you are entering a wrong password.

If you have another admin account then use it to restore needed account's password.

If this does not help, please see that: http://www.petri.co.il/reset_domain_admin_password_in_windows_server_2003_ad.htm

  • Hi,

When you enable the AD DC role in the Windows server, you try to log on server using administrator account, it’s fails.

Whether you are using this format “Domain name\user name” for log on. Please also note that passwords are case-sensitive.
