Where to change the transfer call ringtone in SFB or Sonus Gateway? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Customer complains that every time they do a transfer call in SFB, the transfer sound ringtone is like a busy ringtone, so they thought their call are hang up/disconnected but actually not.

Is anywhere in SFB server that we can change the transfer ringtone so it will not confuse the callee?

Or this is a setting in Sonus gateway for this?

    Thanks.

  • Hi Kuberk

Once your transferring the call users will be put on hold. So as you mentioned, you can either change it in sonus or lync.

But in Lync client, it's more client oriented and you should keep a music file on every client machine to make this working. Better go for updating file in sonus.

  • Hello Kuberk,

As Vishnu wrote, you should check the MoH settings. By default music on hold is not activated on the Lync client.

And I think also a MoH file from the Sonus is played instead.

If you put you call in lync on hold, you should here the Lync MoH.

  • Thanks Akampa, I may not describe the issue concisely, the scenario is like below:

    1. User A calls number 1000, user B answered the call.

    2. User B directly use blind transfer user A to user C.

    3. While waiting for user C to pick up the call, what user A hear is a very fast ringtone sounds like the call is hang up.

The issue is replicable in customer site and I have been digging where can we change the transfer sound user A hear in step3.

  • You are correct, it is actually an issue with music on hold but not transfer ringtone.

If the customer is using Polycom handset, after they put the person onhold, the person can hear the music.

If the customer is using yealink phone, there will be fast ringtone or silience.
